Faro (2024) is a city in the south of Portugal. It is a coastal town and the capital of the region of Algarve in Portugal. Faro derives from the Greek Faros, meaning Lighthouse and has a population of 61,000. Faro has a beautiful beach at the Mediterranean Sea.
Faro historic centre has some architectural highlights including the city gates and the Faro Cathedral; city gates the Castelo de Faro and the Estรณi Palace.
